Visual Effects Society Announces Nominees for the 16th Annual VES Awards

The Visual Effects Society has announced nominees for the 16th VES Awards. In the 24 multifaceted awards categories, "Blade Runner 2049"
and "War for the Planet of the Apes" each received seven nominations.
"Game of Thrones" received 11. Feature film nominees include: Outstanding Visual Effects in a Photoreal Feature:
• Blade Runner 2049
• Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2
• Kong: Skull Island
• Star Wars: The Last Jedi
• War for the Planet of the Apes Outstanding Supporting Visual Effects in a Photoreal Feature:
• Darkest Hour
• Downsizing
• Dunkirk
• Mother!
• Only the Brave Visual effects supervisor Joe Letteri will receive this year's VES
Georges Mιliθs Award for his contributions to the art and science of the
visual effects industry. And filmmaker Jon Favreau will receive this
year's VES Lifetime Achievement Award for his contributions to filmed
entertainment, joining previous honorees that have included James
