I would appreciated everyone's help very much :)

Hello

I am a graduate and I am a graduate who has had lots of rejections from all the jobs I would really, really like to do! Time to ask for extensive, extremely critical feedback to help increase my chances of landing these jobs as I am obviously just not good enough yet. I would like to be a matte painter and concept artist.

I always asked for critical feedback whilst I was at uni and they gave me some kind of feedback, which I always felt was overly positive. I think I was right! Anyway, as I've said before, I would really be appreciative for any ideas and suggestions you have for anything to improve. What is good and what is bad.

One of the main problems I see in your portfolio is that every single piece of work you have, shows a lack of forethought or even basic consideration to brushwork and surface properties, and you also have an incorrect idea of what a finished piece of work is supposed to look like in terms of both macro level coherency as well as micro level detail. That makes your work look amateurish, as if they are rushed sketches that you kind of tried to take a bit further, but then gave up before you even started on the final phase that gives them compelling details.

Hello Ms. Erica. One thing that I noticed while browsing your works is that there wasn't a story behind them. They are pretty to look at, but for the pieces that contained fantasy elements, there wasn't anything engaging with it; they had no clear meaning. Gazing at those art pieces, I wanted to see more, like it wasn't quite finished. I personally loved the lighting in all of your pieces, but even something as minor as making the color gradients contrast at specific parts to go along with the main feature of the piece would draw my attention in even more.

I'm sorry if this sounds a bit harsh, I really liked what I saw and intend to help you grow by posting what I saw. I mean no harm and hope that you will create another work of art soon.
