AO pass on floor with compositing tab

Hello fellow colleagues and Cinema 4D enthusiasts,

I have a model in C4D which I would like to composite onto a live-action floor in After Effects. I want the model to cast Ambient Occlusion on that floor. The way I was thinking about doing it is by applying a compositing tag to a floor object in C4D and hiding it from the camera, yet check "Seen By AO" and then adding AO to the multi-pass list in the Render settings. Later, inside of AE, I can use that AO pass under the object.

However, this does not seem to work. The floor does not render which is expected, however neither does the AO on the floor (of course the AO on the model does show up in the pass).

How can I get the AO on the floor to render in the AO pass without rendering the floor itself? Or what would be the best approach to do this?

Thank you.

I got it. Thanks anyway.

Glad you figured it out.
Care to share the solution for the edification of all?

Sure.

I basically rendered out the AO pass separately and put it on a layer under the object for which I also rendered an object buffer AE and set it to multiply. Voila.
