here's another example of PXL+DIRT use

small update of PXL+DIRT for the Pattern feature (renamed "Displace") in preparation:

-Using a custom bitmap texture as the source of the displacement (in addition to the "Pattern" feature)
-Synchronization of displacement with the different layers generated (LowCoat, Stickers, Scratch etc ...)

all this is not quite ready yet. I have to settle a few more things.
And yes sure, everyone will be informed of the procedure to follow for the update ...

here is a video showing the improvements on the displacement feature.

Octane render 3.07 or above will be needed, the new Baking Texture node is used.
Thanks to him, we can use Octane procedural Noise like displacement source .

We can now use its own bitmap (or as before a procedural pattern) as displacement input and distribute it with a 
dirt map generated by a Noise or synchronize it with different PXL+DIRT layers (Low coat, Stickers, Scratches etc ...)

The update should be available during November @thepixellab.net

Hi everyone,

The Dispalcement update must unfortunately be delayed.
This new feature really slows down the setup for optimal use, 
especially with the fresh release of the Octane Plugin for Cinema 4d.
I'll let you know when I'll have a solid solution for that.
Thank you for understanding.

I am sincerely sorry for this miss, and I hope that the future versions of PXL + DIRT 
will be able to take full advantage of new engine functionalities such as Uber material, OSL, metalness etc ...

Meanwhile keep enjoying PXL + DIRT !!!

Finally, some news from PXL+DIRT !!!

A free update is currently being deployed via ThePixelLab

This one brings compatibility with Octane Render Version 3.08 for Cinema 4d, as well as new features
on the displacement channel, originally announced a few months ago.

here are some example gifs made with the new setup:
