cast shadows suddenly stopped working when i render

Hi, im not sure if this is the right forum to post but i try.

Has anyone experienced this? I been working on a scene for a while and its no problems, im finished lighting and almost finished surfacing. Suddenly i do one little change, like uv mapping and inserting a bump map on one model. When i render, most of what is suppose to be sunlight shadow is gone.

It has happen a couple of times, and what i have done to fix it is unlink one part wich didnt need the sunlight. Now however, that doesnt work anymore.

Im using maya 2012 and render in maya software with depth map shadows. Has anyone some tips for me to fix this?

Hm hard to say. I haven't used maya software for anything but rendering separate ambient lighting over surface shaders.

Maybe check the normals of your assets.
