Proximal with cloner object (see exemple)

Hi, see on this image:

All the lights in the glass are from a cloner object. I try to add a proximal effect to the glass luminosity to make an halo around the little spheres. It's not working at all. Is Proximal work only with basic objects or can it work with complex trees?

(I know I can avoid all this by just using a glow, or even better, by texturing the glass and ditch the cloner spheres. That should boost the render time a lot. However I try to understand what's not working for the future.)

thaaaanks!

Nice effect.

You'll need a higher density model for the proximal effect to work and I used a
lower density model for placement of the cylinders.

Mograph and proximal play nicely together, just remember to check 'include subobjects'.

Scene download (if you need it)

Hey thanks ThePriest! I'm going to check your scene closely and try to understand what is wrong with mine. I don't know why it would need a higher polygons density as it is a surface shader...

Thanks!!

What version of C4D are you running? Prior to R12, mograph did not play well with Proximal.

You're correct, the high poly density isn't required. Just the include subobjects check box then, which from your screenshot wasn't activated.
