Compositors Multipass troubleshooting checklist

I am familiar with multi-pass compositing in Nuke, but was wondering if anyone has a checklist that they usually preform to troubleshoot any passes when they receive new renders, before getting real deep on comp and then realizing, oh this is why something may not be working properly.

Run a layercontactsheet node to make sure you have all the passes you think you do (I'm assuming you're working with an EXR file). When they show, run them to make sure they are all good.
