Question Alternative bitmap path

Hi!

I'm wondering if I can use an alternative bitmap path for my textures.
The problem is that I'm using very large textures from different locations on the network.
If I could just copy those textures onto my local raid and 3dsmax would first look there and load them from there if available, that would be nice!

I guess the bitmap proxies are made for this but I'm dealing with large tiled EXRs loaded via VrayHDRI. So I don't really want to convert them anymore, just load them from a prioritized location.

Has anyone dealt with this before and found a few tricks?

Thanks in advance!

I've never used this, but I'm planning to in the future. You could use caching for shared folders on Windows: http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/...y/cc755136.aspx.
