exporting to maya/xsi??

hi guys

just one q ...how do u guys export back to maya without the model loosing all its edge weights ..i tried exporting as an obj but the model was all messed up when i brought it into maya

anyone ????

I'm about 99% sure obj doesn't support edge weights, and 100% sure it wouldn't support silo's implementation of it. I don't know if there's a format (besides the native .sia) that is going to contain the proper edge weight information you need. You could always write/have someone write an import module that reads the (ascii) sia file and weights things properly in the target program, or you can "freeze" the model before exporting.

edge crease is not a cross platform feature...
Use double edges instead.
