Thanks for the comments guys! I used Zbrush for the sculpt, all dynamesh since I really didn't know where I was headed when I started this. Then I just decimated and sent it over to Maya and rendered in Mental Ray. I'm currently poly painting in zbrush so I MAY remesh and make some practical uvs...or I may try my luck rendering in Zbrush.
