Hi Loreathan,
Its a nice try for the first attempt. Im not specialized into mattepainting, but even from my position I can see some uncertainity. - for first, scene (according to MY opinion) should have some united color atmosphere, at least slightly. You have blue sky and light comming out of cave, contrasting with orange lava and bright-brownish moon and it somehow doesnt fit together. Try to desaturate your scene a little bit and add some color filter maybe (for example blueish, because it supposed to be a night scene) - rock cliff is overcontrasted and you are loosing details in those black areas - maybe a glow comming from lava should has more feather Hope it helps ![]() |

Hi there,
Thank you for comment shadow92, well as a general idea, it is good to create contrast in your work and to use contrast colors, this will attract the viewer, so why you have seen this as a mistake I don't know ![]() Other than that desaturation might work like you said but the idea is also to create an alien planet, for that reason we don't know the atmosphere and so it might be day time here and not necessarily a night scene. "Rock cliff is overcontrasted and you are loosing details in those black areas" You are right man "maybe a glow comming from lava should has more feather" yeah I agree, actually there was some glow I added but not enough I think Thank you again for your comments |
