ONIMUSHA, Zhang Yimin (3D)

Title: ONIMUSHA
Name: Zhang Yimin
Country: China
Software: 3ds Max5.0

I have spent one month finishing this work. My totally modeling and rendering in 3ds max, used photoshop on later stage . I want to pursue a kind of style out of the common, have style of the eastern sophisticated appeal. He is a Japanese warrior cursed .
Works of me style a little strange, a lot of people appreciate so I want your suggestions and criticisms very much.

hiho there

the style is pretty extraordinary, i like it, especially the bright colours, allthough it seems you loose some depth and plasticity on some places. maybe try another form of lighting?

concept and modelling are pretty nice too, only the hands could do some more work i guess

i think thats the point. this piece looks very much like an old scroll painting. it has just enough depth to let me know it's 3D, like on the left arm (his right), but enough style in the rendering to give it the look of an old japanese painting.

Thanks

I see, a good work must be very perfect in various fields, what I did is still not enough, I must continue making great efforts .
