mirror whole mesh/rig?

I never touch the character tools, but find myself in need of a simple arm/hand/grab animation.

In the R14 content browser there's a "CA Tools (Muscle Deformer)" preset that would be all I'd need, except it's the left arm and I need right. (I would not need any of the muscle stuff - just the arm mesh and rig controls)

Is there a simple way to just mirror the whole thing without needing to start learning the character toolset?

Thanks for any tips - Mike

I wouldn't try to mirror the rig....
I'd use a symmetry object OR flip it in post.

thanks for the response wes - are you saying don't try to mirror as in "that will be hard to do"?

Turns out I need both hands, but doing different things (so the symmetry thing won't work). Flipping in post won't work as it need to be manipulating a device that is already animated.

some day i've got to dig in to the CA tools

Hey Mike,

Well, I've tried maybe a dozen different configs with the mirror tool and it just doesn't want to give me a functioning mirrored rig. There's a lot going on... expresso/muscle deformers/etc.

With that said, there may be some magic config (turning things off/reconnecting/etc) that might work, but yeesh.
