How to simulate an ultrasound?

I need the realistic appearance of an ultrasound applied to non medical things like landscapes, and vehicles. The fan shape is easy enough but the strange texture is puzzling. Any ideas on how to use PS to turn an image into a sonogram?

This is the look I'm going for: http://www.google.com/search?q=ultr...UPmvO4ToqAHHtAE

The texture can be approximated in post by using a suitably course noise and applying a radial blur to that and then comping the whole lot overtop. If you're using Photoshop for this, avoid using the "best" quality setting as it's both more time consuming and overly smooth.

The texture is mainly just combinations noise and blurs. Try adding multiple instances with varying sizes.

When you say "noise" do you mean Filter-Noise-Add Noise?

When you say "noise" do you mean Filter-Noise-Add Noise?

That's giving me the look of a static TV or a grainy photograph, even when I scaled it up to 400%.

I've googled PS noise but this filter is the only thing coming up, do you mean another tool?

Thanks
