skin shader look dev

Hi Dudes and Dudettes,

I am currently reworking a project of mine.

Right now I am focusing on the look of the skin, its a rough preview only.

I rendered out different passes with mental ray and composed it in photoshop.

Do you have any suggestions/remarks to help me improve this please?

Thanks!

It looks very good so far, Im sure with eyeballs and hair it would already be striking. If I was to tweak anything, it might be a little less glossy reflection on the nose and lips, I know those are wet/oily areas but it seems overdone here. If those reflections were a bit more shiny (blurred) and a little less intense I think It would help. is this misss only, or combined with a mia_material?

Hi, thanks for your feedback,

I got similar responses from other people and will adjust the image accordingly!

I mostly used the MISSS material but i selectivly enabled different features seperatly to quickly get passes (just set all other contributions to 0) then i comped it in photoshop. the spec is from the MISSS but I added a simple mia material to get the enfironment reflection only. (this is only visible a bit on the lips and slightly on the skin, not much change really) well spotted though
