Question can we create this kinda terrains in zbrush

i`m currently working on a strategy game project something similar to below one. i wonder what applications are being used to generate this type of terrain! would that possible with fibermesh?

I would say yes it can be done. The poly count would go through the roof, might not be suitable for games.

LoL... The land in this age of empires screenshot is just composited transparent texture tiles. If you look closely for a bit you will start to see some of the repeating patterns. Not sure exactly how they did it... Land tiles might be pre-generated on load from a set of semi-transparent tiles. Really tricks your eyes into believing the land appears unique everywhere.

There is also a assortment of 3d objects placed above the ground layer and they had a very nice shoreline transition system...

Search for and spot the matching patterns in each texture type(dirt, grass, etc) to figure out how many layers there is... Notice the matching patterns in the "dirt" layer here I have marked with arrows?
