The Walkman, Roberto Fera (3D)

Title: The Walkman
Name: Roberto Fera
Country: Italy
Software: HDR Shop, Maya, Mudbox, Photoshop

A little tribute to the eghties. I created the model of the walkman and the batteries in Maya and added extra detail using Mudbox and XNormal. The lighting setup is achieved with an IBL and two additional area lights and it's rendered on top of a photographic background. Any critique or suggestion is welcome.

Smile Wow it looks like a photo

Thats brilliant! It really looks like a photo. It brings back old memories lol. I used to have a Walkman. I also like the reflection of the picture in the table. It's a small detail but its all in the details.

Thanks!!! Just to clarify, the background is a picture, I've camera matched all the object in the backplate and than added my CG on top of it. The actual CG is the walkman and the batteries. As for the materials I used just maya's blinns for this project.

Cool

Well guess that answers my question about if a photo plus a CG object can look flawless ' )
Im still pretty new with CGI models but im a rock star with photo magic. Next on my drawing board, soon to be on this form, are some objects combined with photos.

Makes things a heck of a lot eair then estimations and painting things out.
