Question Python Help: Animated Camera Mapping to UVW

Howdy,

Knowing nothing about python, this request might be more painful than its worth, but here goes. . .

VrayforC4d does not yet support camera mapping. It has been suggested on their support forums that it might be possible to write a python script to work around this issue. So I'm throwing this out for any curious programmers:

What is needed is a script that would bake camera mapped objects using an animated texture projected from a moving camera.

many thanks,

No script needed
You have that option within the BakeTexture Tag already.
Just make sure you have your scene saved as Project so you
have a tex folder that the textures gets rendered into or
the result will land on your main disc top level as afaik,
the BakeTexture Tag doesn't have a file name option.

An alternative is to use texiDRIVER setting up projections
as that would work directly in Vray. (xfiles in my sign)

Cheers
Lennart

Oooh nooooo! I was taking the texiDRIVER route when I found my old car R12 will not accommodate. Prolly a good reason to upgrade though

thx again and will try the default bake as suggested.

Though I couldn't use texiDRIVER this time, the bake texture tag worked perfectly for my first test. Thanks again for your time to teach!

Lennart, you mind explaining how to use texiDriver properly? Trying to camera map a texture in vray. What goes in TexTag what goes in [Driver] slot... thanks!

The READ_ME Overview does cover that.
Both link fields are optional, using a specific object other than
the textag object as Driver and controlling a specific textag
(i.e if you have more than one on an object)

Cheers
