Hello Rebecca
I am back.
Got side tracked a little been trying to finish up some other paintings I have been
working on.
Sold paintng of Liang!
Woman waiting for me to finish it.
She loved the 1st version she saw.
The one you said needed more neck and less red in background.
Hope she likes my improved versions. - If not she has a lot of versions to choose from!
Anyway, here are two updates, plus the one you last saw.

#1 needs more neck, less red
#2 gave more neck, toned down reds and made her skin color more realistic
#3 Brightened up and fantasized it.
Mostly practicing on it in preparation for other paintings I am working on.
A definite learning experience.

Hope everything is fine your way.
Don't know how you manage everything you have going on:
SuperWoman

Well, when you get a moment, could use some of your expertise.
I will be participating in #7 for sure. Would be nice to have another Liang-type of model with pretty clothes etc.
Talk to you soon, I hope
Take Care
Glenn

PS I am really learning to type my own messages -
one finger of course, better late than never
(Mrs. Spirit Dreamer did type this one, though)

Spirit Dreamer(s),

Great to see you back!! Your work turned out really beautifully! I think it's really interesting what you have done with the effects in Photoshop, and it has helped the composition a lot. However, I would still like to see you push the figure by itself as far as you can ~ without hiding it behind effects, which are cool, but not as cool as some of your painting work, particularly on the dress ~ really beautiful work there.

Looking forward to seeing your work for the OFDW 006!

Cheers,

~Rebeccak

Hi Rebecca
I understand what you are saying, It felt good to paint the dress in that
manner. Like painting with oils on canvas. I miss that feeiing of pushing
into the canvas with the brush.
I will try to do what you're talking about, on next figure, don't know if
it will come out good or not, but we'll see.
About the flowers and humming birds, I did them with painter, not photo
shop. I never used photo shop before.I'm still exploring painter.Still finding
new things in there, after five years, amazing program.
Painted humming birds and flowers by hand, useing painter, no referances.
Used layers to place them into painting. Used the setting called lighten in
layers,it eleminates background around object to be layerd, then pushed
botton on pen, whitch brings up a menu, whitch allows you to change the
shape and sizes of objects to be layered. Just telling you this, in case you
have'nt tried it yet.Workes great, I just discovered it myself, and am haveing
a blast, playing with it. Layer on top of layer, makes great flower arangements,
creates a lot of depth...MAGIC...I,m like a kid with a new bike, I can,t get
enough of it.
Did this typing myself, so it is far from perfect, but is the best I can do at the
moment. Just wanted to thank you again for your help, means a lot to me.
Take Care
Glenn

Spirit Dreamer,

Not sure if I am more impressed with your picture or with your typing! Both are nicely done!

Thanks for the Painter tips! I think it's awesome you are discovering new things all the time...you're sort of like our resident Painter pioneer around here!

Great to see you back...and looking forward to 006!

Cheers,

~Rebeccak
