WIP Avalanchev Light Assault Mech
My name is Adrian I am currently studying 3d Animation and modeling in Perth Western Australia, and after using blender last for 6 months i have recently moved to 3ds max 9 weeks ago. I have always loved mech and robots animation as a kid so i decided to focus on sci fi and mechanical modeling and animation for awhile.
Below is a project i am working on for my personal portfolio. A light assault mech and only a prototype concept. Nowhere near finished but here are a few pictures, i need some advice on designs of the weapon itself. Since its an light assault mech i did not want this thing to have huge massive cannons but i am not quite happy with its current weapon.
The original idea for designs of this mech was that i didn't want it to be "blocky." I wantd the audience to see how the parts were moving here and there with those huge pistons. I wanted some of the detail to be a little "exposed" while trying to maintain a "light weight" look to it. Did not want missile launchers and other huge explosive weapons just light weaponary that packs a reasonable punch to keep the weight down.
Any criticisms would be really helpful, since i am very very new to 3ds max
