Maya beginner rig question
Hey there,
trying my hand at some simple rigging bits and have a quick question, basically I'm wondering how / if you can bind a piece of geometry to a curve? ![]() I come from a softimage background where this is easly done, however when I select the geometry and the curves and try binding them, maya tells me that no joints are selected, I assume I am missing an easy step here? Thanks Pete |

Use Add Influence (Skin > Edit Smooth Skin) to "bind" curves or other geometry to a mesh. You need to smooth bind your mesh first though (you can bind it to a single joint, eg), then add your influences by selecting first your mesh then a curve and Add Influence. That should get you going.
