Fibermesh curves don't show up (other apps)

Why is it that when I import Zbrush fibermesh curves (from the export curves option), nothing shows up? In Maya, it says the result has been imported but I don't see it nor is it in the outliner.

I've actually tried obj and ma plus the modo format. When I try the obj file, it says its imported in the result line but nothing is on screen or in the outliner. When I try the ma file, it says unrecognized file format.

This is very odd.

However in modo the curves do show up via the lxo file format. (I just can't do anything with them for some reason). Modo doesn't recognize the obj format either.

dont export to many fibers,
if its not showing up is it showing up in the tree list in your other app?

is your model from another package your using the fiber mesh on?
if so use tool>deformation>unified before you use the fiber mesh, maybe you model scale factor is throwing it off on export( just a guess) it may be to tiny to see or its there but placed out of view. es

i would press accept to apply the fiber and export that subtool fiber as a .OBJ
make sure your normals are facing outwards in your other app or check to see if it has a double sided option to view normals that are flipped.

ZPLUGIN check>auto update
