Your concept is beautiful and the WIP documentation equally impressive
Heading this way though might cause a slight headache for some of the judges
You're possibly drifting too far away from the written outlines of the environment
My suggestion would be to continue the row of houses in a way so it leads up and connects to the BG structure

Definitely looking nice though

Thanks Seema:-) I really appreciate your time on this. Let me try if I can convert this to look sci-fi and help the judges to consider.

No sci-fi

Dear Girish,

Your conceptual design already looks extremely promising. Thank you for entering the contest. I believe the only concern might be that the description of the setting specifies a 200m canyon that is missing in your interpretation of this scenery.
Judging by the high level of quality you are showing here, I'm confident you will be able to hit that note and finish this Matte Painting in time.
Very good job so far. Congratulations.

Kind Regards,
Milan

Hi Milan,

Thank you so much I am glad you liked the concept and WIP. I was worried that I got deviated. Thanks for giving me the hope. I will continue working on this comp with your suggestion.

I tried adding 200m canyon but for that I have to increase the height to get the depth. Hence I put this huge irregular shape gorge . Please let me know for any changes.

Hio Girish,

I think your concept had a much more successful composition and strong sense of depth with colors and values. It's much lost in your matte painting now. Try to keep those shapes you had especially in the background (as well as colors). Also the 200mm cliff still feels missing despite you having raised the elevation. The bridges connecting are obscuring too much of it so the feeling is lost.

I agree with David, thefirst concept was pretty solid in values and color, in your matte painting color values in distance are not photo real, just attach to your initial values and exposure and this will look cool, good luck !

Thanks Jaime. I did some changes and removed the color corrected bg. Only I am having problem with getting 200m canyon. I will try again. Thanks for your time.

200m

Hello Girish,

This is very cool. Don't worry about it being 200m deep, but try to either remove the water and add some cliff walls instead, or replace that canvas on the top left in the FG with some upwards extension and keep the water then.
As for the BG, it might be too saturated for that distance. Especially the yellow. Take a look at Potalla and try to reference it a bit more integration-wise. The mountain is epic but somewhat over-dominating in frame. It is also competing with the cloud in the sky. Maybe try and reduce the scale and replace the sky. Reference some photos of Tibet or Nepal to get the look right.

Very nice work.

Kind Regards,
Milan
