Dawn in a toxic world

In a distant and toxic future everything looks empty at first glance.
Only a couple of trashed and desolated wooden shelters are seen on the surface of earth.

Yet under the water the civilization survives shielded from the atmosphere.

But in the horizon dawn arises with the birds breathing once again the recomming fresh air..

interesting concept though it's approach isn't that favorable. what if someone posted a desert scene and talked about the beautiful architecture below the ground, which can't be seen of course....

I like the textures a lot. What program(s) did you use for this project?

Wink Coments

First of all. Thanks for the compliments. :-)

Unlike "Evening at a distant beach" this picture is made solely in photoshop using a series of shots taken with my beloved nikon D200 just outside copenhagen where I live.

The sky and the shelters is also composed by severel different photos taken on vacations and out of my window!
Have`nt used the smallest, liquefied, distorted corner of a google browsed texture og picture. Neither have I used previous picture component from this forum or any were else!! Its my own photo all of it. Wrapped, smashed, punished.. but mine.

The architecture under the water and the mist rising from the water was mainly mattepainted.

In this picture I wanted the architecture to present itself differently in its surroundings- in the landscape. Much more sublte, barely seen in first glance as I wrote in my entre.
It should`nt harmonize with it. Rather it should be screened or shielded from it. Maybe even abanded by it.
I also wanted to give the whole picture a somewhat disrupted feeling (or a less happy more sad feel). I tried a whole new colorshceme in hope of achieving this.

At one moment I also paintet some bloodstains on the boardwalk.. In the end I ereased them again and added some living birds instead and a little happier color to the sky and called the picture "Dawn in a toxic world", just to leave some hope at least.. Hmm ;-)

I totally agree with Lyngbye. Especially his points about the subtle submerged architecture.

Nice work. I really like mood and the crispy textures.

I agree - very nice warm colors.

If this is the type of image you enjoy, I encourage you to explore the software "vue." Many artist are creating similar stunning images, but with the aid of 3d, therefore, you have all the control. Your environments are not controlled by your photo library. Check it out.

Nice work!

Thumbs up A very beautiful image

To be honest, I haven't seen the underwater structures at first but the "mélancolie" is really strong. It reminds me obviously Tarkovsky's movies...
