Driveable Loft

I'm using Loft to create a road down a mountain, but even though the shape that is used along the path is level, the road itself is not level and slants down the mountain... so if you were driving back and forth between the switchbacks, your car would be tilted to the left or right. This is probably because the snap settings oriented the points on the path the side of the mountain. Any way to fix this?

I would personally would create a spine for your path and then loft or sweep it.
This will create UVW coordinates and give you flexibility.

If you turn off banking then the path will be level.
If you use a loft you can later use the twist deformation to add banking for say switchbacks or completely change the cross section of the road by adding camber etc.
