Get a list of newly created vertices

Heya,

Let's say I use a polySplit command vertically and horizontally on a polyPlane. Is there a way I can get a list of just the new vertices that are created from this?

Thanks

Get the number of vertices of your mesh before splitting and then again after splitting. The new vertices ids add on top, they are the difference:
Code:
int $numVert0[] = `polyEvaluate -v "polySurface1"`; // split int $numVert1[] = `polyEvaluate -v "polySurface1"`; string $splitVertices = ("polySurface1.vtx[" + $numVert0[0] + ":" + ($numVert1[0] - 1) + "]");
