HR:Summer's Brutal Animation War

A record six cartoon flicks hit between Memorial Day and Labor Day; says DreamWorks Animation CEO Jeffrey Katzenberg, "This will be the strongest summer for animation ever."

"...strongest summer for animation ever?" I've never seen an animation line-up that I cared less about. I realize I'm far from their target audience, but the only thing I'd even consider taking my 7 year old to is DM2, and that's only if the reviews are halfway decent.

So if/when a couple of these films get lost in the shuffle or otherwise buried by the competition, how soon can we expect some gloom & doom articles?

Sometimes. We don't have cable, so he's not inundated by advertising hype. I usually let him know there's a movie he might like, show him the trailer, and if he's really interested, then we might see it. It's called "parenting."
