how to use puppet shaders

this is my first time to use puppet shader for my shave and haircut
but the prob is i don't know where to put p hairtk shader and also there is a mr prime which also is worthless but still didn't see any tutorial for that either.
yeah there is many tutorial which told us that use this shader for this node and close this and do that but not showing the step wise method.
like this one
http://kiryha.blogspot.com/2010/06/...mental-ray.html
which is totally gr8 but i stuck when he says

"Select shavedisplay node, assign p_HairTK. Turn off "override geo shsder" in
material properties section of shaveHairShape. Thats all"

i select the shavedisplay in my outliner but how to assign p hairtk and i didn't find override geo shrder in material properties section of shaveHairShape.
and he says thats all in the end,,, seriously its not all :(
i am using maya 2011.

ctrl alt delete

well some progress (not really)
i select shavedisplay in outliner and hypershade right click on p_hairTk and assign it. didn't find override geo shsder so i assume it will work and then i render
then it ends with ctrl alt delete after 30min :(

In shave globals switch hair render mode from buffers to hairs primitive, turn off override geo shader, switch to rasterizer in maya render globals.

Select shavehair node, open attribute editor, check OFF "override geometry shader" in materials properys rollout.

Mentalray render globals> features tab> Primary render > rasterizer
With rasterizer quality of geometry antialiasing defined by "Visibility samples" and quality of shading by "shading quality" in quality tab.
