Sora, Huntress Of The Taira., Philip Zborovsky (2D)

Title: Sora, Huntress Of The Taira.
Name: Philip Zborovsky
Country: Canada
Software: Painter, Photoshop

A concept for a character (a woman assasin).
Her mane is Sora.
Under the veil of her beauty and charming personality is a ruthless warrior, who is dedicated to hunting down any and all members of the Taira clan ( her sworn enemies). Allthough she is very skillful in the art of sword fighting, and various stealth techniques; one of the most feared weapons in her possession is an evil beast that yield only to its mistress: a venomous hound-like creature known as Tanuki.
(inspired by real women warriors of japan, and japanese mythology)
All comments are most welcome.
Thanks, Scoshi.

Good execution.

However, I would move the dog thingie in front of her on the floor and completely cut out that side of the picture. The animal totally lost in the shadow and can hardly be seen. Plus, having it over there does nothing for the composition. By moving the dog over, you will tighten the composition and create a stronger visual dynamic that will help carry the character personality over to the viewer. The dog is a protector/weapon of hers, yet in it's current location is out of reach. Bring it in and strengthen the piece.

Cheers,
~Oreg.

I personally like the composition with that open space to the right. But i do agree that the dog gets lost in the shadow. Maybe he should just get a bit more light.

Otherwise the painting is beautiful .
