Clothing on female figure help

Hey guys and girls. Im currently modelling my first female character for a hi res still and am a little stuck on what I do now.
I have modelled the main figure, with out clothing and now intend to dress her.
She will mainly be in Boots, Stockings, gloves, Bra/corset and Knickers. I intend to rig the model for posing (possibly a short animation) but don't know if I should model the clothing as separate objects or sculpt them as part of the model.
Im using 3ds max, but also have Mudbox for sculpting.
Any and all help would be greatly appreciated.

Your best bet is to make them separate objects. It will make your life a lot easier when it comes to texturing and shading the clothing.

If you modeled the clothing straight into her body geometry you would have to make all kinds of layered shaders and the texturing process would become a lot more intense.

Thanks for the input. Materials is not an issue, it was more to do with the deformation during animation/rigging.
In the end the gloves and tights are part of the main mesh, while the rest are separate meshes. Will see how they come out once ive finished the rig

Most looser things I would have separate. Besides items like stockings, yoga pants, anything that is skin tight and won't necessarily wrinkle. I would just put them into the same mesh for ease of use. Sub materials wouldn't bother me in most cases.
