Yeah there are some <a> tags not closed properly. <a> tags hold content and must be closed using <a>Hello Link</a> and not <a />, even if the element is empty.
Also the 3 anchor links you have on top don't have to point to an <a> tag. They can point to whatever element you have as long as it has the correct id pointing to it.

To fix it just remove the 3 invalid <a> tags and put their id's in the newshead div elements beneath them.

Thanks, didn't know that you couldn't close an <a /> like that. I will have a poke and get it working. Next step is to get a CMS running.

Any reason you're not running it through Wordpress or equivalent,it makes updating sites a lot quicker and easier.

Because I built that site 15 years ago and just don't have time to rebuild all the data with a CMS.

Care to do it for me?

Ah ha
Thanks for the offer but no thanks

I have enough to do at the moment with our site - which is Wordpress by the way. We had a similar issue though - old web site with all the data and videos on it. Eventually I took the plunge and swapped to WP, which was very easy to setup - most service providers have it on the control panel as a one click install and keep the old site going at the same time - choose a theme and start cutting and pasting the content over. Maintaining it is now a hell of a lot easier.

Sounds like a job for a student or intern - best of luck.

I have setup WP sites a couple times and it is easy. I just don't get paid to do it so mine is last on the list. I have a site partially started using Concrete 5 and was supposed to be done by now but there is always thing thing about having to make money that gets in the way. Hence I have so many scripts that are just sitting half done that I would like to complete as well. I find that I can't afford to do things for free any more.
