A Middle 70s Corner, Riccardo Cecchinato (3D)

Title: A Middle 70s Corner
Name: Riccardo Cecchinato
Country: Italy
Software: Maxwell Render, Photoshop

Image featured in Ceiga (Issue 12, Sept.-Oct. 2012)

"Hi guys!

I did this interior for the portfolio of a freelance-made studio in wich I am working now.
I wanted to create a corner of an room from the mid 70s, trying to achieve a different visual style instead of the common iper-clean interior.
I took inspiration listening to the music I love most, and trying to "transform emotions in poligons".
Everything was modelled, textured and rendered by me.
Original resolution is 1920x1920. Postproduction was done by me and Mattia Balsamini.

Our studio is named MeLa.factory, we are located in Venice (Italy).

Hope you'll like the images!

my only crit would be that the floor could use some dirt, just a tiny bit,
its a little too clean compared to the rest of your texture work i think

but maybe thats just me... :-)

Very good texturing.
IMHO the floor is too clean and new compared to the most part of this piece.
Amazing work!
I draw using math models and algorithms.

I think it deserves an award. Love the mood, composition and close attention to detail.

Speaking about details. I'm not sure if the anistropic reflections of the potentiometer on the amp is corret.
It doesn't look spiral brushed. Is it possible to map the anisotropic rotation in maxwell?

Patrik, thank you so much for your kind words!
I am glad and honoured you appreciated so much the images!

For the potentiometer I used this map(the classic one) in the anisotropic refl. channel:

I think it is the correct one for this kind of reflection, isn't it?

Thank you again mate

Absolutely gorgeous.

Can I ask how you achieved the volumetric dust and fog?

Thank you Matthew!

Sure you can ask,
dust and volumetric light were added by me and Mattia in post production, for my personal portfolio version of the images.

Anyway I suppose you can achieve a more physically correct result, in more complex scenes, working with particle box from the 3d package in wich you are modeling.

thank you again mate
