mograph and multiple objects in one cloner

hey there

i am stuck trying to figure out how to control multiple objects as a child of the same cloner object. i thought i would post the question to see if it it actually possible.

if i have a cloner object with multiple children can i easilly control how many times each one is actually cloned ?

for example if i have three objects can the first one get cloned once - the second to a variable amount lets say 10 and the last one in the heirarchy only once after wards ?

so in this simple example the cloner object would be set to 12 in the y direction
and this result would be stacked in the order i have described it.

thanks for any help or hints

pedro

you could control the exact number using a formula effector and the right formula controlling the "Clone Index", but otherwise it's just a case of using effectors to control the "Clone Index" value by eye, e.g. the step effector would most likely give you the most control in this situation, or a straight shader effector with a falloff.

if you need exact numbers of clones then it's better, or easier to just create multiple cloners set to generate the precise number that you need.

thanks per

i do have it more or less working with multiple effectors - i was tring to make things a little tidier and also i thought that having everything in one cloner would help to streamline growth effects that i will want to apply to it later.

thanks for your time, ill look at your suggestions.

The simplest way of all, IMO, is to just duplicate the objects so you have the right sequence under the cloner. So if you want Sphere Cube Cube Cube Sphere, just put a sphere and three cubes under the cloner.

thanks adam

but for my set up there is variable user data determining the total amount of clones so this wont work i think
