Rebus farm + 3ds max, Question

Hi,
I have a question regarding rendering with Rebus farm and 3ds Max. Besides the output format I choose (png), it also produces .exr files. Why is that? Does that mean that it renders my images twice and consumes my render points/credit faster?

Here are my render settings before submitting the job. You can see that I've only chosen PNG as the output format for my image. I can't see where these exr files are coming from:

Thanks for your help

You'll be best off contacting Rebus directly, however I seriously doubt it's rendering twice and is simply saving out the exr's as well as the pngs to give you the option of having the 32bit data from the frame buffer

Thanks AJ, sounds plausible. I kind of thought that might be the case.
