Roger Robit - An Idea, Jordan K. Nieuwland (2D)

Title: Roger Robit - An Idea
Name: Jordan K. Nieuwland
Country: Canada
Software: Photoshop

Another quick sketch that evolved into a detailed paint rendering.

I find with these personal exercises, I try to fully realize the lighting in the scene, the design then becomes an after thought.

Mostly Photoshop hard edge brushes with some airbrush

C&C welcome

Jordan.

The lighting, the colors and the design are brilliant. Its one of the pieces that make me check if i'm on the 3D Gallery instead of the 2D.

sweet work. outstanding. brilliant. it's rendered me speechless! i agree with Dennik about this. I went back and checked if i was in the 3d gallery or the 2d. This is just beautiful! I love it. You will be my inspiration to start doing concept paintings

yes...

Yes. Really like the light. The leg in shadow under the lit arm... just fine! Ditto the bounced green light under the torso and the softness of the green. Mmmm.

Love the Style

Love it , it has that 60's style robot thing mixed with a newer kinda cuteish look going for it, just asking to be modelled.

At first I thought it was a 3D render that had been modified in Painter or Photoshop. Nice work. I'm still not 100% convinced its 2D.
