This video, you move things directly in your view port. So you no longer needs to have 2 windows opened. Very much like XSI.

That makes sense
And if we could ever get to a point, where you see the results realtime, like a game engine. The unification between when you setup your scene and when you render, is very interesting. Like it breaks down the wall.
But it still seems too slow, like it gets super grainy for a while, even with the slightest changes.
Which is fine for when you are lighting, but I couldn't imagine animating or modeling in an environment like that.

And if it is for lighting, I guess the render view is fine?
But hey, it looks awesome! And if it is just a test, then it is even more awesome

To put it lightly, if you end up inventing a real time ray-tracer capable of V-Ray quality final images you'll be an instant millionaaaare!

This is extremely useful tech though as Maya itself can hardly handle basic textures with 10 point lights in VP2 - nevermind something as complex as an area light and refractions. Can see it speeding up a lot of people's workflows. I know I'll be checking nightlies daily now lol

I tried a demo of this: https://caustic.com/gallery_movies_...ph2012_Maya.php and it looked pretty impressive as well. So far I think it only supports MR stuff.
