Since Cebas developed the SSS shader I'd imagine that it's substantially the same as Final Render's system. The results certainly look quite similar.

As a soon to be user of 8.5 Studio (I'm still learning the free xl 6 but hey) I can say form what I've seen its the shiznit!! Now if they'd only make a cloth module.....:(
I've tried Lightwave (too damn many buttons and unfriendly IMHO), 3DSmax (ok but just somthing about the interface and oh yeah the PRICE) and Maya (nicer interface but still hard to deal with and again PRICE). then I found C4D. I'm a freelance webhead but decided to try this and I'm so hooked ont it!! I'm going back to school for 3D (learning max but hey I can use C4D for personal).
The interface just works how I think. Very structured and hierarchical and just plan FUN and not intimidating..
Ok enough. Sorry guys, train of thought got a bit derailed. But very soonn, oh yes!
Can't wait

8.5 favourites

I am very excited about my new 8.5. My favourite new features are:

- the new shaders, especially the layer shader
- total integration of bhodinut shaders
- the new bone features (absolute vertex maps)
