Outliner reorder problem
I am not really new to Maya, but this little problem is new to me.
I can't reorder anything in my outliner. I do have Sort Order set to Scene Hierarchy, but still, whenever I try to reorder something in the outliner, I get the following error:
// Error: Node '' has locked children and cannot be reordered.
Any information on this would be great

I know this is too late. but I ran into the same problem just today and found a solution for it. I think it would be helpful to post this.
If this happens, you have a node that is lock inside your scene. To unlock a particular scene node
lockNode -lock off ObjectName; //replace the ObjectName with the node name.
If you forgot which node which was lock you can try using this
quoted from NathaN http://www.creativecrash.com/forums...cs/locked-nodes
for ($obj in `ls`) lockNode -l 0 $obj;
for ($obj in `ls -sl`) lockNode -l 0 $obj;
