Question Can zooming be motion blurred?

Hi,

I'm using SI 2011 (with the included mental ray) and animating camera focal length changes (zooming in and out). Motion blur is working fine for camera movements, but I'm not getting motion blur on the focal length changes. I've done this with real cameras, so I know it definitely happens in reality!

In this scene I'm also using the Vue xStream 9.5 plug-in for most of the content, but in order to isolate possible Vue limitations, I attempted a simple scene in SI without Vue, and the same thing happens: no motion blur on focal length changes.

Is there some obscure setting I am perhaps missing? For what it was worth I tried enabling deformation blur, but that didn't help. Is there perhaps some lens shader that would deal with this? Or is this possibility addressed in a newer SI (or perhaps another application Vue also supports)?

Thank you for any tips!

Kevin
