please help with modelling cave

hi, im currently making a cave for game and having difficulty to figure out the most effective way to do this

i have no problem making the props but the main problem here is making the wall and ceiling

should i make everything in 1 mesh and just sculp everything in zbrush ?? but the uv and texture map would be extremely big and also i think it would be hard to maintain the seams in such a big area
should i create a bunch of rock and just stick them together to form a cave wall ???

please help me , im new
maybe people who has more experience making a cave could share their workflow
thank you

(sorry for my english, english is not my 1st language)

You need to think about the lighting in the final shot. Most likely, in a cave, the vast majority of it will have only shadowy illumination, so no one will be able to tell if you have intersecting geometry. You only need to do a full zbrush sculpt for the areas that will be clearly illuminated.

Also, big texture maps really aren't that much of a problem, unless this is for real time use (in which case you'll need to use tiling maps).
