The statement was a mild attempt at humor —connecting a real transonic falling dude with the fictional supersonic flying one.
I doubt we’ll be seeing a transonic cloud skirt at the altitude, pressure and temperature where Felix will probably hit the relative speed of sound (98,000 ft/30 km).
Terminal velocity depends on momentum (mass x velocity) and air resisting volume. A bowling ball has a higher terminal velocity than a basketball or a dead pigeon, dropped from the same height. Felix will be building momentum from a much higher, much more rarified atmosphere than your average skydiver, let alone will be weighing more.

536mph from 96k ft.

Not all that close to the sound barrier.

Those are stats from his jump a couple of days ago. He’ll be doing a 120k ft drop in August, where he will attempt to break said sound barrier.

As long as all that tearful flashback, Tree Of Life, Clark growing up shit isn't half the damn movie again, the rest of it is looking mighty and epic.

I hope this version of Zod gets close to being as dark as the original Donner scenes with Zod.

Looks like a banner year for dark, shallow depth of field, textural cinematography with lots of particles and dust.
