Mercury custom, Jomar Machado (3D)

Title: Mercury custom
Name: Jomar Machado
Country: Brazil
Software: 3ds max

I always loved the Mercury custom car. A car that was a "cult" in the noir genre.

The Max2014 has a new tool called IBL in Mental Ray, so I wanted to try it with my recent modeled Mercury, as I had upgraded my HDR Light Map 4 with the Live option, so it was a new road to run...

This is a nice car, and nice render, bu the image itself could be improved - mainly the composition. I'd crop it to more panoramic format, and move the car to the side. Also, I'd get rid of that tall building to the left - it's a distraction, and unbalances the image, making left side very heavy.

And as a tiny detail, I'd turn the wheels a bit, and add some deformation to the tyres - they look rock hard now

Very nice car you have here. Just one thing I concern which I think the body of the car a bit too low. But overall you did a great job~!

azazel: Thank you for the feed back, but I don't agree with your comments.

This composition was to make emphasis in the power under the hood of the car, the nice and the vertical building helps it too, making the "L" composition of the image, otherwise the environment would be weak and poor...

In the "L" we have a straight line going to the sky (the building) and the base line were this car sits (the ground)...

HeeChung: I do agree with you, these cars are too low but it's the way they make them in USA in this genre...

Thank you for your time and comments bros and sorry my English...
