Daiichi

Hi guys,

Here is a character I started working on almost 4 months ago but I had a long brake from him because of work. I finally decided to pick it up where I left of so here are some renders. Everything was sculpted inside ZBrush and rendering was done inside 3dsmax. I'm almost done with this but before I finalize this I'm posting it here. Thanks for viewing.

Here is his background story.

STAR - Special Tactics and Rescue unit was formed as a response to ever growing need to end the conflict before it expands to a bigger region.

This unit has 13 members each trained in a different style of martial arts. They hold an intensive and rigorous selection process. Each new member has to undergo full body screening to evaluate both mental and physical strength. Those that make through undergo a final medical examination and are put through intensive training in both martial arts and military tactics. Each member is trained in fighting style that is best suited for them and is given a wide choice of weapons to pick from. Aside from the standard fire arms they all get to pick a melee weapon. They can choose from bladed to blunt weapons that include swords, staff and daggers. STAR Units are fitted with a custom armor that is built to enhance their predisposed abilities.

Daiichi (第一 - first, number one) is the leader in this unit. He excels in the art of sword and his hand to hand combat skills are hard to match. Combination of power and speed that is enhanced by his suit gives him a perfect balance and makes him a tough opponent to beat.

Superb work as always Hasan! Since I first saw it in CGF and Instagram it has been a constant inspiration, design, materials, textures, you name it, you deserve top row for sure! keep the good work! cheers!

Fantastic work, very nice attention to detail.

Just a couple of things I noticed:
- SSS on the face looks a little too much
- The handle on the katana looks a little plasticy compared to what I'd expect
- In a few places the weathering on the carbon fiber looks a bit subtle compared to what I'd expect from the surrounding elements, the shins for example, it could be the lighting though.

I look forward to seeing how this goes.

Thanks for your inputs Kev!

Quick render without displacements. Very low settings on sss light map so it's scattering is a bit off. A few things to fix here and there like his hands intersections posing etc. WIP after all Just to get a feeling of how I want this guy to look.

The character design is awesome and the level of detail is superb! The only think I'd say is that I thought the hair looked a little plasticy (mainly the bunches that come down past his neck, they kind of look like they've been dipped in glue or something.

Please Please show some wires , going to make an environment for him ? maybe some what a modern samurai training facility ?
