Only bones move?!

Hey, I'm new to the forums, but I have been a fan of this site for a while. Anyways, Whenever I "select by name" so I can move that body part, only the bone moves. I am trying to make my character crouch but only the bones move and my character stays still with his arms and legs wide. I'm new to animating, so go easy on me.

Hi!

The 3ds max help files (hotkey F1) are great when learning basic consepts. I suggest going through it fully, or at least the Animation and Character Animation topics.

For this particular case I'd look here

This might be too obvious, but have you skinned the bones to the mesh? Are you using a custom rig? CatRig? Biped?

your image links are broken.

Go down to the editable poly level in your modifier stack and make sure you're not in sub-object mode.
