Resource for wire parameters/script controllers?

Hey guys, any one know of a good resource and in depth look at 3dsmax's wire parameters and or script controller?

Hmm, not that I am aware, there maybe something out there from PEN, maybe his rigging DVD's.

What is it that you need to know? Both are fairly straightforward.

Well , I just want to get more familiar with them. Yeah I've used wire parameters countless times, but script controllers , not so much. I just want to grow familiar with it is all.

There is a cgtalk thread attached to this video that has a scene file included.

It uses a Float Script Controller attached to the birth rate. It derives a length over two frames from the emission object and uses that as a control value for the Birth Rate param. Open it up and take a look.

EDIT: Just to thought I would add, "reverse engineering" it is how we all learn when there are no formal training resources

Thank you for the reference. I hope I can reverse engineer this lol. My concept of methods and functions in maxscript is still at noob level.

After all that is what a Script Controller is!

It isn't too complicated if you have a basic understanding of maxscript you will be fine.
