Assigning mass to particle via a map

Not sure how to approach this one. Id like to assign a particle mass based on a map. Here is what im shooting for.

Not bad for after effects but of course its 2d and the attraction is a set radius. Im thinking we can do better in pflow.

I think you could easily assign the mass to particles with a Box#3 - Point Color 3d function based on a greyscale map, you can grab the length and it should be a nice normalized value.

I think the problem is getting a localized gravity behaviour based on one of the particles in the most dense region of the cluster. That well... I have no idea how to go about.
