Displacement map across detach/reattach mesh?
Basically I need to split a mesh into 2 to be able to divide another level of sub-div out of each in Zbrush. When my sculpting is finished and displacement maps have been extracted I want to reattach them to a single mesh but preserve the displacement detail across the former seam borders.
My potantial workflow thus:
Break the mesh into 2 meshes
finish my sculpting
UV both in a single unwrap space using multi-uv tiling
reattach both meshes to a single mesh
Just wondering if anyone has any experience of this and it's pitfalls or a better method of doing it? The mesh has organised topology and has to be a contiguous surface at the outcome.
