Noob Help

Hey all

I'm new to Maya and I'm trying to create a simple strawberry as my very first asset. However in the tutorial, the guy doesn't say how to get of the yellow-orange-red. It's this...

Very simple problem. I don't how to take this off. Even when I restart Maya, it's there. I'm trying to create the top of the strawberry but I can't because this.

Anyone PLEASE help me with this?

If you tried to upload a screenshot of the problem, it doesn't look like it went through. I can't see it here.

But based on the colors I think I know what you're talking about. I think you have soft selection turned on. Bring up the tool settings sidebar (click the wrench at the upper right corner) and the second heading should say "Soft Selection." If there's a check mark next to "Soft Select" click it to remove the mark and turn it off.

You have soft-select on. Press B to toggle it or find it in the move tool options.

He had you turn it on at 1:23, did not watch whole tut.
