CG Architecture

So I've been looking for an architecture school that will teach me what I need to know when it comes to Visual Architecture. I'm already an Animation student at Durham College in Canada but I've always been interested in the Architecture field and my knowledge resides more on the technical side (from my drawings to my renders). I'm curious as to how someone may start in this field as well as schools located in Europe (EU citizen) and Canada. I'd really appreciate some help here as I've spent days looking for some sort of school that even comes close to what I'm looking for.

I did look at cgarchitecture.com, but the best response I got was "Just teach yourself", which for someone who is a student, isn't an option.

Any sort of help would be great. Thanks in advance.

I'm not sure what you mean when you say "visual architecture." Did you mean architectural visualization?

Yeah, sorry, late night post creates discrepancies. I did some more research into this field...It almost seems like I should just take Architecture and work on my 3D work so I go.

I don't know much about architectural visualization but this thread has some info. I would also be interested to hear from those familiar with this field what the requirements are to get into it and what the work is like from day to day.

Awesome, thanks for the direction. The general concensus is basically: If you know your texturing, lighting and rendering systems well enough, make a portfolio arch viz centered and find studios. If you want to take the safe approach, take architecture.

So I guess it comes down to me deciding where I am.

I went to school for architecture and have a few former classmates who are doing architectural visualization now, for the most part it does seem like people who have an architectural degree (not necessarily a masters) and used that as a foot in the door along with a good 3d portfolio. You also might want to check out http://www.cgarchitect.com/ for a lot of resources. Good luck!
