eias to maya

Any suggestions to get a rodeo animation from eias into maya? I can't do it. Excuse the abrupt question but i'm tired and want to go home!

Cheers

In general EI is a one way street. Goes in but doesn't come out.

There is something under the ANIMATION>Export>Maya

but I never used it. Don't know if it does anything.

This should work in theory...
After you run your rodeo animation select all animated objects, set your timeline to the end of the simulation and add a keyframe. You should see animation paths appear in the project window for every object.

Hold down ctrl and choose Object menu---> range object export.

This should save out each frame as a sequence of models that can be imported into Maya for model/child cycling.

As to which format to use...
You can try to export to OBJ directly, this may or may not work.
Or you can export to FACT and use Transporter (or another App) to batch convert the FACTs to OBJ.

Good luck,

Dave
